The Parable of the field, the horse, and the mule
By Micah Level
I saw in the spirit, in a dream on 8/8/21. A vision panned by me of a beautiful wheat field on rolling hills. It was bright gold in color. Half of the field had been harvested. But the combines were parked and no longer in operation. Right in the middle of the field was a lovely horse. She was resting as she was about to give birth to a baby. Another horse was resting off to the right in the distance and a mule stood watching to assist the birth of the horse.
After much reflection and insight from other prophetic friends, I want to submit this interpretation and word.
The wheat field is the church
The combines are the man made machines. Now empty and out of operation.
The horses are living things. A picture of Life
The baby is the new thing coming. Multiplying and coming organically.
The mule is a picture of leaders carrying the yoke of Christ.
A combine may have the power of 600 horses, but it is still an empty shell and machine. It is not alive. The horse birthing a horse is a picture of life and rest. It is a living thing multiplying by birthing another living thing. While it is only one horse, and can’t boast of the same power as one combine, in regards to life and its ability to multiply its self it has far greater value then all the combines put together. Combines can produce a lot of results when it comes to the production of gathering the wheat. But it can’t multiply and make another combine. Only a living thing can give birth to another living thing.
God is speaking into the season of the church right now. It isn’t the time for massive quantity of big program results and mass production. God isn’t looking for big productivity and results. He is looking for life. This is the season of new life and multiplication. It is the time of birthing new things that are alive. Instead of employing the same man made machines that give us the same proven results day in and day out, God is calling us to set them aside and enter into rest and life. Life is of far greater value then power. Life is the word for the church. Life that multiplies. Living people are far more important then production machines. Programs and things that have been fruitful for results but have become a hinderance to life and rest in God’s people are going to be put out of operation. God is calling us to put on His life and to raise up others into His life. God is after His life growing and multiplying into his field (the church).
Like the mule, God is calling leaders to His humility and service. We are called to watch and assist the church as there is a birthing of a new beginning in the midst of the field. The mule is a sign of hard work and humility. The mule is a servant that carries the load. In the natural Mules are unable to have posterity, they can not build dynasty. They spend themselves fully and are not building personal names to outlive themselves. They spend themselves laboring for the sake of others. In the same way, leaders in the body are being called to steward the people of God. To assist as a midwife to birth new and living things. To get off the treadmill of performance and lay down the obsession for influence, results, production, and personal gain and to take up God’s heart to serve and assist the people of God into the multiplying life of Christ. Like the mule we aren’t to produce any children of our own. But we are to serve in bringing many sons to glory. The people of God are His offspring. We are servants in the labor of forming Christ.
We have valued power, production, and systematic results above life. But Life is of far greater value than power. Life is power! Jesus has authority and power because He is alive. It is time we put on the resurrection immortal life of Christ and we will watch the things we have tried to gain through man made means come to us organically through rest and faith. In addition in this next season of Harvest, man’s idea of how to bring in the harvest will not work. Believers will need power & authority (horse) and need to carry the burden of of the Lord for the Harvest (mule).
